What happened to personal choice?

While I love and appreciate others feelings on the topic, what happens to personal choice? What happens to all the animals in our care today? I think it's great that you see this as a great solution but I prefer to keep my choices and not have someone else's beleifs shoved down my throat. If AAS really agrees with abolition why are they still saving animals? By doing that they are still supporting slavery and slaughter, same goes for any one else who continues to own a pet.
