This letter has got to be the most absurd reason for the slaughter of seals that I have ever come across. The author is trying to trivialize the seal slaughter and there's nothing trivial about murdering over 3.5 million baby seals in over 5 years. To say that the right of Norwegians, et al that kill seals because of their so-called culture and heritage is just plain ignorance. We are talking about a slaughter here in Canada, not a means by which the killers subsist on. To compare the slaughter of 3.5 million baby seals as a right of one's culture and heritage is preposterous. The only thing the writer forgot to mention was about the rights these defenceless animals the seal killers have denied them. Where's the justice in that?
