We beg, PLEASE do not let Peppy die here *LINK* *PIC*

This is an email sent to AAS:

"We are a small group trying to beg help for this caged senior Dog We have gone through all local resources and gotten nowhere. We understand the Investigator Is NOT licensed to enforce Ag and Market laws. Officials will not grant us an Interview and all efforts to present our side have been Ignored or denied with the same form letter circulating by The Chauauqua Co. Humane Society.

This dog is located In Dunkirk NY,. We respectfully ask that you help or give us time to speak with you, but we beg, PLEASE do not let Peppy die here, she hasn't got much time left and has certainly suffered enough. Her story, and the petition, what has been done and tried so far, can all be found at the links below, we are at a loss and every day that goes by is another day of suffering for her. AC has disabled their extensions and will not take any more calls concerning this dog. pictures show severe dental disease and a rusted, water stained cage deemed "adequate"

Dunkirk NY's newspaper "The Observer" printed a public article but then refused all attempts to allow us to tell our own side by saying It was a private matter... yet they had printed this article in a public city newspaper. Attempts to help this dog taken before the city council in 2005 were also Ignored,The owner stated at that time that he was unable to walk the dog due to an Injury, today CCHS, has openly lied to several Human Societies The last only yesterday May 21st, in an email to The Mid Atlantic HSUS when Inquiring about Peppy CCHS,replied to them as follows:

"We have heard from the Chautauqua County Humane Society that Peppy is now out of the cage and doing well."

Mid-Atlantic Regional Office
The Humane Society of the United States
Flanders, New Jersey

Indeed Peppy is still In her cage and has never been removed!!...This was confirmed the 21st of May, by myself a local resident.

She does not have much time left!!!!! In speaking with The NYS Animal Control Officer Mr. Jack Woods he Infromed me that her Tin shelter is not adequate as It holds both heat and cold, and a new law has just passed banning shelter which does this. We have politely asked and been given NO proof of any Insulation and pictures and witness accounts show only an old dirty pillow in the cage, also, The feces beneath the cage is cleaned only when the owner has been forewarned of an Investigation! we also do not know If this dog Is licensed.

Something needs to be done as this has gone on too long and is begining to get negative attention for the County and City of Dunkirk! we do not Condone any Illegal responses or harssment! but would like a chance to speak with an Official who will listen to the facts we do have, but were denied the right to speak about, as this dogs age is advanced we are afraid she does not have much time left for a right to a quality of life the negativety surrounding this case, we believe will escalate If she dies in this cage without at least being given proper and updated housing (which we are willing to pay for completely)., we do not want to see anything happen like this! our goal is to work with Officials and the owner to right this apparent neglect In a lawful and legal manner

Thank You for your time.

PS- When contacted CCHS sends out the same form letter to all, expect this. this is NOT the situation, and I do see this dog on a daily basis, I live a few streets away, she does not leave the cage! We are fighting a losing battle here as Dunkirk has dug in and refuses to help this girl at all!!
