Thousands of emails calling for an end to the seal hunt flood Senate inboxes, Canadian government shuts down email servers

Thanks to your support, an unprecedented number of emails supporting Senator Harb's proposed bill to end the commercial seal hunt in Canada has flooded the Senate.

Unfortunately, government servers could not handle the tremendous outpouring of support for the end of this cruel hunt and the system shut down access to your emails.

Refuse to be silenced!

The government and Canadian media has already tried to spin this historic event by saying the "Harb Seal Bill" is already dead in the water. But the fact is, Senator Harb still has time to find a second, courageous member of the Senate to champion his bill.

Not a single senator from either party spoke up in defense of the proposed bill when it was announced, but this only proves how afraid the Canadian government is to bring this issue out into the public for an open debate.

Why? Because they know the EU has just taken a major step forward in banning the import of seal products. They know Russia is in the process of banning its own hunt for seals under the age of one year. And they know this proposed bill could be the beginning of the end for Canada's hunt. They're trying to stifle political debate because they know the vast majority of Canadians DO NOT WANT THIS HUNT.

They say this hunt is humane.

They say it is well-managed and sustainable.

You and I know the truth. And over the next few weeks we will continue to show how the facts of this hunt prove them wrong over and over again.

But right now, we need to stand behind Senator Harb to let him know he is not alone. We need to bring this debate to the people of Canada by moving this bill forward. We need to let Senators and the world know that CANADIANS want the seal hunt ended.
