"About Us: Dogwood Initiative wants to make British Columbia the global model for sustainable land reform. We are succeeding. We are the leading land reform organization in BC."
Dogwood Initiative organized a protest on Wednesday in Victoria which involved throwing six live chickens around a room in a horrific media stunt.
The protesters, allegedly trying to promote respect for the environment, used chickens as a symbol of being "chicken" and showed no regard for the welfare of the animals they were using. You can read about it here.
Dogwood Initiative is taking no responsibility, claiming that they have no control over what activists do in demos they organize.
We are demanding a public apology.
Here are 3 easy actions you can take to help out!
Action #1:
Call or email Dogwood Initiative and ask them to take responsibility for their actions by making a public apology for engaging in egregious animal abuse.

Action #2:
Please leave a comment on the National Post article.
One of the Dogwoods representative posted this outrageous comment:
Just for the record the Chicken stunt had nothing to do with the Dogwood Initiative. We organized a rally in a park across the street from Ida Chong's office and while we were there some other activists delivered the birds.
I'm told that the Chickens were rescued from a very crowded egg farm where they were they were living on a two foot pile of their own filth. At least now they have found a more comfortable home at the Animal Control farm outside Victoria.
Action #3:
We have now started a Facebook group seeking a public apology from Dogwood Initiatve for a stunt that involved the throwing of live chickens. Please join the Dogwood Initiative, apologize for throwing live chickens! group to show support for the chickens.
Thanks for taking action on behalf of the most abused animals on the planet!
