When is the city of Vancouver going to ban the keeping of yard dogs in their city? Yard dogs are dangerous to the public, as they become desocialized and aggressive and invariably get loose and run the streets at some point. The mauling of Shenica White by two such dogs, is a prime example. Canada Post employees have had to deal with the problem of yard dogs for many years, and I think it further endangers the public when a police officer cannot do his/her job because of dogs who are kept in this manner. Now that a police officer has discharged his fire-arm because of a chained yard dog, I urge the city of Vancouver to create and enforce a bylaw that says if you have a dog, it must be kept inside the home.
