Jennifer, we are so glad that you are being useful to the inhabitants of the Victoria SPCA. But we suspect you may not have been there long enough to get sick of the treadmill of animals in and animals out with no attempt to change that.
Where is the public education in Victoria to teach that it is immoral to buy little creatures that are kept in cages their whole miserable lives? Where is the BC SPCA policy statement that says it is immoral?
Where is the public education to teach that it is immoral to isolate dogs on chains, in yards, in pens, etc?
Where is the public education that it is wrong to dump your old dog or cat at the SPCA for free, so that the SPCA can quietly and without any unpleasant fuss, kill your old dog or cat for you?
Without changing public perceptions of animal morality, you can have your job until you die - or until you walk out in disgust. Some stay and take the paycheque forever, some refuse once they see there is no end and there is no intention of ending, killing at the SPCA
