I received a call today from a staff worker at the Salt Spring Island Transition House.
A woman in crisis had arrived along with her cat. Could I provide a foster home?

The staff person said she had already called the SPCA who had informed her that they would not foster the cat "because the cat is not spayed."

This is a small, well-funded SPCA branch that only deals with cats and bunnies, but I guess it only helps the ones it can sell.
