This could be a step in the right direction for the BC SPCA.
Teaching children to be responsible pet owners is unbelievably necessary.
Personally I truly hope that this is the main reason for the emergence of "Kid's Club". I will be terribly disappointed and angered if this turns out to be another thinly disguised "fund-raising" effort with little or no benefit to the animals.
I also sincerely hope this is not about keeping small animals in cages for their entire lives either.
My children know the importance of spay and neuter and explain it to all their friends. My children also understand the need for foster homes due to irresponsible pet ownership and cannot understand anyone parting with a member of their "family" for any frivilous reason.
Here is hoping that other children learn valuable life lessons and compassion and that the BC SPCA truly considers the animals' first in this program.
