Please send me your Animal-Bulletins. I'm so glad to see an organization
out there that really helps the animals. I used to help fund raise for the
SPCA, but one day asked myself why I'm bothering to help an organization
paying people who earn union wages, who hate volunteers, who put down animals
without volunteer input and who keep stressed animals in cages e.g. cats
when other shelters have roomy open areas.

I guess a lot of us go into the SPCA because we want to help the animals,
and hope to improve their situatiuations. Then we get disillusioned. It's a familiar tale
from the sound of it. Looks to me like the BC SPCA went wrong by getting into animal
contracts with municipalities and went downhill from there. The arrogance and
misinformation regarding Cheech, the kennel cough dogs in Surrey and all the other
problems is finally beginning to put the municipalities off so other caring organizations can take over.
Pity that only the SPCA can do cruelty investigations in this province.
