Is Everyone Deaf at BCSPCA Head Office?

Isn’t it amazing that an organization that is so dependant on the good will of the public to provide the money to keep it in operation should be so determined to ignore what those same people are telling it?

A meeting was held some months ago at the Victoria SPCA about the dog assessment test DTA4. The universal response that they had put to them was totally negative. It was pointed out to them in no uncertain way that the test was completely unscientific, detrimental to the welfare of the dogs and unwanted here in Victoria. People at the meeting included those with many years of experience working with dogs in need. Absolutely no justification for the DTA4 method was made by the SPCA other than it was “policy”.

If, as now seems to be the case, DTA4 is being implemented here at the Victoria SPCA in spite of this input that was given, then the dogs will be the losers.

When the public is made aware of this they should use the information to decide for themselves whether their animal welfare donations would be better used at organizations other than the BCSPCA.
