Oh No! Three more years! Write the Mayor and Council of Richmond

Please write Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie and Council, telling them what you know about the way the SPCA does dog and cat control, and asking them to stop contracting with the SPCA.
Email: mayorandcouncillors@city.richmond.bc.ca

Will the SPCA sue Richmond for breach of a verbal agreement? As haywire as that would be, it is entirely possible with this Board and this Executive, who seem bent on airing all the SPCA's dirty laundry in a public courtroom.

The District of North Vancouver, Delta, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Langley, and Abbotsford, have all chosen to stop contracting with the SPCA and in every case, less animals are killed, care is more humane, and staff are polite and helpful. Yes, this even applies to Mainland Animal Control which has the Abbotsford contract. On two occasions it has been helpful and organized, keeping records of dogs spotted loose in a close-by municipality and saying that they would pass along the information if anyone called looking for that dog...and they did! The typical SPCA response is ...that's not my job Jack!...if they even answer the phone which they seldom do.
