Just have to share this happy ending story...

Sadie was put into a yard last year and was left there even when the temperature went to 8 below. She is only 30 lbs, short-coated and barely more than a pup. Her shelter was a piece of plywood leaning against a garage. The ground was mud until it froze. Neighbours could hear her crying in the cold at 4:00 in the morning. Some kind person removed her after appeals to the SPCA changed nothing for more than a few days.

Update on sweet Sadie...
As I was having a plumber do some work in my bathroom, I put all five dogs
in my bedroom for an hour while he was here. I went in to my room and I
couldn't believe my eyes, it looked like fifty teddy bears had been killed
and had the stuffing ripped out of them, which was now all over my room, and
of course there sat five pairs of innocent eyes staring at me. "It wasn't me
Mom." I looked around the room looking for teddy bear bits, eyes, noses,
left over fur, but couldn't find a thing. I was puzzled. Where did the five
ton of fluff come from?

Anyway, I got ready for bed and jumped in and pulled my comforter over me.
Hmmmm, my comforter didn't feel all warm and cozy as usual, in fact it felt
as thin as a sheet. Upon further inspection, I found a neat hole at the
bottom, which I am sure the fluff was given it's freedom from. But which dog
did it? In the five years I have had my dogs, the have never done anything
like that, so I had my suspicions which were confirmed the next day when I
walked into my daughter's room to see Sadie joyfully ripping up a teddy bear
and depositing the fluff all over the room. Guess she thought I was warm
enough in bed snuggling with her and I didn't need a comforter.

So Sadie now has a box full of her own teddy bears, which she is delighted
with. She brought one to bed with her last night and gently placed it on my
pillow. I awoke this morning to find Sadie playing with my kitten. The
kitten hangs onto Sadie's legs for dear life and Sadie bounces around the
room. When the kitten falls off, Sadie licks her and waits for her to hop
back on and then the game begins again. Very cute and Sadie is so gentle.
The kitten likes to take naps with Sadie all cuddled up on my bed.

I gave my dogs all a big raw bone tonight and Sadie took hers and ran full
speed through the house to find a quiet spot to eat it. She looked so happy
I didn't have the heart to make her eat it in the kitchen. Next
time......maybe. (Everything makes her so happy, I have become such a softie
when she breaks the rules.) I gave her a kong filled with peanut butter and I
thought her tail was going to fall off.

She is now finally peeing in the
back yard with the other dogs, though only if I stand on the stairs, if I
make a move towards the house she runs full speed up the stairs, even in mid
pee.

Well that's all the news for now. I need to go and stuff my comforter with
the teddy bear fluff I rescued. (I put the comforter fluff in the garbage
before I knew where it came from)

All donations of drooless teddy bear fluff welcome.
