This is scary stuff! The SPCA has $20 million income a year. The people it is intimidating and threatening with its unregulated power are almost always too poor to pay the thousands that it takes to fight the SPCA.
AAS has been threatened by the SPCA's lawyers three times, starting in January 2001. The SPCA says it is too poor to fix its crummy, diseased facilities, to pay its vet bills, or to hire more hands-on staff at the branches. In other words, no money for the animals, the reason that people give so trustingly to the SPCA.
But it has plenty of money for a bloated Head Office management staff and plenty of money to sue AAS.
Its seizures are starting to make no only the victims mad, but a lot of lawyers and vets who see clearly what is going on. They are beginning to speak out.
Government had better start listening!
