Gag orders aren't recognized in court
In Response To: Is this even legal? ()

If the SPCA persists in its spurious law suit against AAS, we will be calling many witnesses to testify to the truth of every last word we have ever written.

Wes Norman, Stephanie Briscoe, and her husband, can't be gagged in court. They will be free to describe SPCA officer Eileen Drever's shocking tactics. The way the SPCA makes seizures will have all the makings of another "Cheech", one that the media can really get its teeth into.

In the summer of 2001, when the SPCA began its Community Consultation hearings to find out what everyone was so mad at and to make recommendation for reform (after it had first tried and failed to shut down the AAS web site), the head of the Panel, Marguerite Vogel, told me that the worst stories of abuse of power she heard were about Eileen Drever and that she was determined to do something about that.

Not only has nothing been done to curb Drever's style, but Drever has been promoted by CEO Craig Daniell to much greater powers, and her style is being imitated by all the other SPCA Constables all over BC.

Vogel, as a BC SPCA Director, is overseeing all this.

We cannot conceive of a reason for silencing anyone who is being investigated that is in the public good
The BC SPCA uses its intimidating and unregulated powers to silence animal owners and critics
If you are concerned at the SPCA's power and lack of recourse for victims, write these Ministers:
Is this even legal?
No it's not!
I came back a few hours later with the cash and they had killed the cat!!
This is a story that AAS has heard many times for more than ten years
So you are upset about the cat. Well do something about it

The infamous McLibel case - 'the biggest corporate PR disaster in history'
The SPCA is not compelled to return animals, even if the SPCA's costs are paid
The steps taken by the BCSPCA throughout this drama seem bizarre to me *LINK* *PIC*
