SPCA cries poor while giving $30,000 in raises

The Kamloops SPCA recently asked Kamloops City Council for $30,000 in funding. Council asked the SPCA to submit financial documents.

Excerpt Daily News Kamloops, Feb. 16/05:

"Crime Stoppers and the SPCA submitted financial documents to city council, including raises in wages for staff. Council questioned whether it should provide funds to those groups when Crime Stoppers wants the money to provide a raise and pension plan to an employee. It also noted that the SPCA allocated more than $30,000 in pay increases last year."

It speaks volumes about the SPCA when branches are asking for donations of food for the animals and limiting veterinary care for animals in need, while they spend an additional $30,000 in salaries for ONE branch in a year.
