I asked first and foremost for honesty and what did the SPCA do? It became in my opinion, much less honest. It ramped up its P.R. machine; it churned out false programs such as the Violence Link Project; it lied more; it seized dishonestly; it killed the seized; it made the seized sick in its dirty jails; it terrorized the seized by transporting and holding them in strange and frightening conditions; it killed the seized when they were too slow to sell; it created a junk science test to cull out unsellable dogs; it publicly vilified and financially ruined people who treated their animals better than it did; it did all this to attract money; it promoted the most bullying and nasty of its employees; it gave people ignorant of all animal welfare and animal health the power to seize animals; it milked each seizure for all it was worth in the media; it continued to make animals sick and kill them by the thousands because it would not even start to let go of its money making pound contracts and policy of unlimited surrender; it continued to sell intact and sick animals; it continued to teach staff how to do cheap, in-house killing, instead of teaching staff animal welfare and ethics; it ramped up its selling pitches.; it tried to kill Cheech; it fired humane employees; it declared a phoney "moratorium on killing for space"; it started to use its power to harass and intimidate animal shelters that were far more humane than its own vile facilities; it took credit for other's rescue work and so took the donations that rightly belonged to others; it told the media that it "worked with other rescue groups" and killed dogs rather than release them to a rescue group; it seized healthy animal without a warrant; it forced owners of seized animals to sign gag agreements; and far too many incidents to list all here but will be evidence in court of the SPCA's continuing dishonesty.

Here are a few details:

* Shortly after our meeting in February 2003, Mr Daniell protected the Burnaby branch manager's job by telling a staff member and a volunteer that he couldn't prosecute the manager for causing distress to a dog that was allowed to die without any medical intervention, because the manager didn't own the dog. The PCA Act, which it is Mr Daniell's job to enforce, says anyone who is in charge of an animal and permits it to be in distress commits an offence. This manager permitted extreme suffering and critical distress. * The nasty and dishonest seizure of dogs from Port Alberni residents Ron and Heather Graham was made to deliberate and extreme misrepresentation in the media and on the SPCA web site;

* Many opinions of lawyers, that the SPCA is flagrantly crooked and that its abuse of power must be stopped;

* It did nothing about the excruciating death of dog by torsion at the Victoria SPCA, the person responsible still hold his high-paying job;

* It returned severely neglected dogs to a puppymiller after getting $11,000 from her and then sneakily implied on TV that the PCA Act left it no choice but to return the dogs;

And it used its millions and its power to bully and try to silence AAS directors and posters
