This pet store owner also had a large backyard breeding operation: It's not that we're not pleased that at last the SPCA is doing something *LINK* *PIC*

It's not that we're not pleased that at last the SPCA is doing something about the gross and very public cruelty that pet stores have inflicted on animals for decades - with impunity. In fact - with the SPCA's approval and blessing and refusal to do anything but schmooze with the owners who they appeared to be on very intimate terms with. We were told by a pet store owner that SPCA inspections were "part of doing business". One pet store owner bred dogs in his backyard and small animals in his garage and he was clear with us that SPCA inspections were 'part of doing business'. AAS confirmed this when we made a complaint to the Maple Ridge SPCA about this man's miserable backyard breeding operation. Sure enough - we were told by the SPCA that it had inspected and found nothing wrong. They could have nailed him on being over the number of dogs he had alone, but they didn't even do that. We got the clear impression from the owner that he was very tight with the SPCA and that this was all part of 'doing business with the SPCA'.

Left by the SPCA with this swollen vulva, forced to walk on sharp rocks...
