Diane Anderson just wants her sunshine back.

On June 24, her four-year-old shitzu Sumo was stolen from the parking lot of the Coast Vancouver Hotel in the 1000-block Southwest Marine Drive.

"He was my sunshine," said Anderson, 80. "He was the happiness in the house. I want my sunshine back in my life."

Just four days after Sumo was stolen, Diane Langston of Everett, Wash., had her car broken into at the same lot and her three-year-old bichon frise Joey was stolen.

A third dog was stolen from a vehicle parked at a Budget Brake and Muffler, less than a minute away from the hotel lot.

"We recommend people not leave their pets inside unattended vehicles, because we're aware of . . . incidents where this has happened," said Const. Howard Chow of Vancouver police.

Sumo is mostly white, with black ears, black around the eyes and a silver saddle. Joey is white, with a five-character tattoo on his lower right belly.
