You can bet your pants that when there is such a critical abuse problem with dogs, the cats are also suffering terribly

Carol Coffey, Shelter Director of WAG, says, "The problem seems to be more of a dog problem than a cat problem. We receive far fewer calls regarding cats than dogs."
You can bet your pants that when there is such a critical abuse problem with dogs, the cats are also suffering terribly.
Unspayed cats have litter after litter, which are dumped, drowned, shot and tortured.
Intact tom cats suffer from abcesses and gangrene from fighting over territory and sexual mates.
Reports of cats being tortured are numerous.
Many of the cats will be at least semi-feral, so they do not draw our attention in the same way that dogs do.
They may not even merit a phone call from a concerned citizen.
But they are out there, and the SPCA uses their line about not being allowed on reserves to excuse their lack of a low cost or free spay/neuter clinic, which would save the suffering of some many animals.
