Ignoring the boss's Dog Test!

We wonder if ears are steaming at Head Office on hearing the the President is so cavalier about the SPCA's prized Dog Temperament Test? It is the one that was used on Cheech to jusitfy getting rid of him. It is the one that the SPCA claims is so highly scientific.

The President seems to be saying what we all know, that experience is far better than the test, which is clearly a means to cull out dogs that might not sell quickly or might get returned or might get the SPCA sued for.

The test is astonishingly frank about what it will kill dogs for, but the SPCA has said it is used to determine if a dog needs rehabilitation and what kind of rehabilitation.

Common sense by anyone with dog experience can answer that, it is not rocket science, but rehabilitation would fly as a justification for the test, if in fact there was a rehabilitation program for dogs at the SPCA. There may be a bit, but it is extremely spotty.

We asked the President's branch, the Nelson SPCA, if there is a rehabilitation program there, but no answer as usual. We invite her to tell us now.
