BANFF, Alta - Two of three Alberta grizzly bear cubs that were left to fend for themselves after their mother was killed last month have died in a collision with a vehicle.
RCMP and wildlife officials say the bears were killed Wednesday night near Banff. Wildlife officials were searching for the third cub in the hope of saving it from harm.
The cubs have been on their own since Aug. 19, when their mother, a 10-year-old sow known as Bear No. 66, was hit by a freight train while feeding on berries along a Canadian Pacific Railway line
