To teach a child it's okay to imprison an animal for our education is self-serving and barbaric

As a teacher and parent, I find this shocking. To teach a child it's okay to imprison an animal for our education is self-serving and barbaric. Those children need to know that there are many other kinder ways to learn about dolphins, sharks and whales. They need to learn imprisonment is wrong. Why was 'Free Willie' so popular? Because children inherently know that keeping wild animals in a cage is cruel and wrong. I will never take my children to the aquarium...we do a lot of other fun things that don't involve promoting the cruelty of caging wild animals.
