Miss Duchess has had a nap in the living room with the other Danes before dinner. She seems to have been able to relax a bit. This is a great sign.

She stuffed her dinner down so quickly it shocked me. She then threw the whole thing up. Poor little sweetie.

Later I gave her a few small portions of rice and chicken broth and she has kept this down.

They are all now sleeping in my office with me. Miss Duchess was the first to introduce herself to the leather couch. Likely she will be restless tonight but I am amazed at how settled she is and my Danes with her.

Miss Duchess had a peaceful first night.
Occasionally she would wake up and I would get out of bed and pet her until she rested her head again.

She stared me down as I made breakfast for them. She is starving I am sure. I introduced a tiny bit of chicken and my Danes Solid Gold.

I am trying to get to slow down when she eats. I just pat her on the head and give her that to think about as well.

She kept her breakfast down which I am sure she is happy about too.

Oh yes, before breakfast Duchess was trotting around the kitchen with a squeaky plush pig toy. She is having fun. She is already a completely different dog.

I will say that her owner must of loved her very much. Duchess is a very sweet soul.
