I think the real challenge here is for the SPCA to tell us the truth. I notice that in each post by this SPCA employee (whose posts are so fraught with spelling and grammatical errors, they appear written by a child), none of the points raised by Ms. Boulstridge are addressed:
1. Why were these pups brought in when they were NOT going to be euthanized (per Ontario legislation) - and who misinformed the media about this?
2. Why were these pups brought into BC when dogs are being killed every day in Northern BC, per the Prince George web site?
3. Were any non-pit bull breeds (perhaps from the north) shipped back to Ontario to balance the numbers and to give dogs who actually are scheduled for euthansia a second chance?
As well, if the SPCA is so willing to spay/neuter dogs for owners who are unable to do so on their own, why not advertise this on their website? Word of mouth is rather limited, and while the SPCA seems quite proud that "there is at least one 'young drug dealer type' who comes in on a weekly basis to get their Pitty or Staffy spayed or neutered", what about those individuals who are not drug dealers and are unable to get their pet spayed and neutered? Are they aware that this is available to them? And, is the SPCA also willing to do this for cat owners? I know for a fact of one cat owner who was turned away from the SPCA because the front desk person told him "that is not the SPCA's responsibility". I challenge the SPCA to provide the public with answers to these issues.
