Mr. Brodgesell has touched upon a valid point

Mr. Brodgesell has touched upon a valid point. It is evident that there has been a lack of proper supervision, or naivite at the least. Nevertheless, the severe injury requiring reconstructive surgery, leaves me to believe that this dog had something to hide, which I am sure would have come out during a proper evaluation.
Nips and snaps do not end this badly, even if provoked by a small child.

Only a fraction of pounds, whether run by municipalities, the SPCA, or by private contractors have the means, the time, the resources or the know-how
Has anyone asked WHY the dog bit the child?
