Abuse of power; Short term gain, long term ruin

Many of the current Board and Management and Animal Protection Officers have a long sorry history of deceit, animal disposal for money, animal neglect and abuse, mass killings, animal breeding, animal exploitation, and illegal seizures where the "rescued" animals are sickened and killed, the (sometimes innocent) owners bullied and threatened in the same way the SPCA has bullied and threatened AAS - by threats of financial ruin - and the SPCA's power under the PCA Act so abused that if the police were to act the same way there would be a shocked outcry and a demand for a commission of enquiry, firings and stricter controls and oversight. Sadly, that may be the only way to clean out the SPCA and force it to serve animals, not itself.

Too frequently, the SPCA has chosen unethical policies and actions that serve it in the short term but which will ruin it in the end. And a ruined BC SPCA is not what AAS has ever wanted. We still want (though have almost given up hope of getting) such an ethical, animal serving SPCA in BC, that no other agency is needed, so that animal lovers know who to turn to always and can trust always. Fractured animal welfare is a sad second best for BC's animals.

Animal welfare or a great photo op?
Why did the SPCA show up and take over when DHS was working with the Delta police?
