PETA Wins Right to Show Covance Video

PETA can continue to show our graphic undercover video documenting cruelty at Covance's Vienna, Va., laboratory as part of a court settlement in which Covance dismissed its lawsuit against PETA.
The settlement agreement also means that PETA is free to cooperate with those investigations into Covance's abuse of monkeys currently being conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Commonwealth's Attorney for Fairfax County, Va.
PETA agreed to the settlement after learning that certain workers involved in the abuse have been dismissed.
Although Covance was seeking damages, attorneys' fees, and court costs, PETA will not pay a dime to the company.
Mary Beth Sweetland, PETA's director of research & investigations, called the deal "a complete victory. Covance tried to stifle the video that we took to the laboratory showing monkeys being choked and strangled in its labs and failed."
