Although they now provide dogs with little beds, this is not much comfort

Anyone who has seen the shelters at the SPCA knows that they do huge damage to the animals. The stress the dogs feel in there is huge. Although they now provide dogs with little beds, this is not much comfort. Watching these poor dogs end up with diarrhea, watch their hair fall out; who then is going to adopt these dogs? It is a vicious circle because the longer the dogs stay in the facility, the more stressed and the less adoptable. It doesn't take much to figure this out.

I have walked dogs from the city pound and Burnaby SPCA and the dogs would not go back in their kennels, or would stop dead in their tracks as soon as we got close to the shelter. It was beyond heartbreaking because who could blame them?
