Where I live in B.C. the police and others are now turning to the small rescue groups rather than the BC SPCA when they remove an animal from a poor situation or an animal is in great need.

Why?

Because these groups fix up and rehome the animal no matter the age, size, injury or health of the animal.

Donations for these animals usually follow as the public realize who is doing the real animal welfare.
