I was unaware the BCSPCA was in the CUPE UNION until about 5 years

I'm hoping someone here might be able to give me some answers. I was unaware the BCSPCA was in the CUPE UNION until about 5 years ago when there was a plea to stop donating funds to them. I was floored to find this out. I've been doing some searching on the net and can't seem to get my questions answered. When and how did it come about that a not-for-profit,self-funding charity became unionized? Why are some branches unionized and others not and who is it exactly that pays for these large wages and benefits? Can a person find out which branches have unionized employees?
I wasn't happy when my donations starting going to Vancouver before coming back to the local SPCA. If they did at all. My understanding is that the Biscuit Fund is the only fund where 100% of donations go directly to it.
I know I would like to see a financial statement showing me a break down of exactly where funds go.

I truly hope that the SPCA will NOT kill any dogs due to treatable things
