The Director of No Whales in Captivity is absolutely right. Dr. Nightingale has already been on Global brandishing the statistics his "open" polling of the public has produced. According to these statistics well over three quarters of Vancouverites are in favour of everything he wants, including more whales in the bigger fish tanks, as long as those whales cannot survive without the aid of humans. Has Dr. Nightingale ever spoken out against Iceland (I am of Icelandic heritage), Norway, and Japan, countries that kill whales?

When he sent Bjossa to a U.S. aquarium, where she died, he did not even know that the truck she was riding in could not make the turn out of the parking lot? That's how far reaching his plans are. One of his arguments is that the expansion has to be completed by the time of the Olympics. It will be a wonderful thing that the rich and famous of the world can come to Vancouver and see that we have a beautiful, new pen for sentient beings. The Green Olympics can add this to its already impressive list of mayhem and destruction of habitats. But I digress.

What the Park's Board is doing is outrageous, if it does not opt for a referendum. The Aquarium expansion is a done deal, if the public is not consulted. I can still hear Bjossa's crying!
