If it is untrue, I see it as putting the lie to the Vancouver Aquarium itself

If the article is untrue, it is extremely important that it be demonstrated to be untrue. That demonstration must, most appropriately, come from Paul Watson himself.

The entire campaign of the Vancouver Aquarium was a Public Relations ploy. In my opinion, John Nightingale is not the "great leader" he is purported to be. I watched him and listened to him from two feet away the night that Bjossa was moved from her tank to a truck to the airport. I heard her crying for about 45 minutes during the loading process and I heard what Nightingale had to say about it as he ran around because the truck couldn't make the turn to get out of the parking lot. I asked, "How can you stand to hear her crying that way?", and he replied that she wasn't crying, those were just uncomfortable noises, she'll be fine as soon as she is on the road. The lack of planning and foresight was paid for by Bjossa's fear and bewilderment

The majority of the Parks Board was fooled in my opinion by Aquarium Staff and by the mostly compliant press. The meeting at which the final decision for expansion was made was stacked with Aquarium staff and those who will profit from the expansion. That an article would appear seeming to make Paul Watson one of the henchmen of the Aquarium, if it is not true, is abominable. I suggest that Paul Watson be made aware of this immediately.

I cannot say well enough my disappointment when I read that particular piece. I am sure that many others were shocked as well. It seemed as if Mr. Watson was giving up. And, if he did give up, the tragedy would be unthinkable. In my opinion, prior to this article, Mr. Watson and his crew are individuals unparalleled in history. The works that they perform are second to none.

The validity or invalidity of this article must be ascertained. I suggest that we attempt to contact Paul Watson and discover the truth. The implications of the article being untrue are vast. If it is untrue, I see it as putting the lie to the Vancouver Aquarium itself. I thank Tim Fischer for pointing out the possibility.

Paul Watson justifies animal captivity
Mixed message is illogical
Watson's logic ends in only one bleak place: The confinement and control of all ocean species, for food, or for fun
See what we mean? Geoduck farms
Annelise Sorg has not got it quite right.
What a letdown...
It's unbelievable what people will believe is true
Re: It's unbelievable what people will believe is true
Watson has been used by the Vancouver Aquarium as their token "environmentalist" for the last decade
I would say that Paul has been mis-quoted
If it is untrue, I see it as putting the lie to the Vancouver Aquarium itself
