It's not surprising that the DFO are now targeting seals on the west coast. It seems that the only way they know how to deal with seals eating the fish (which is no way near the amount the commercial or the weekend fishermen take) is to exterminate them.

Seals keep the balance so that there is enough for man and beast. It's the DFO that is playing the political game by trying to appease the fishermen and thus garnering votes, only shooting themselves in the foot when they will overfish the salmon just like they did the east coast cod.

The DFO have a mandate and that is to destroy the east and west coast fishstock by killing the seals, unbalancing the eco-system and then letting the fishermen finish of what is left of our salmon. They did it in the east and they will do it here, mark my words.
