I was told the only real reason SuperPet in Richmond decided to sell puppies was because there was a demand in the area, from Lisa Reid Super Pet Head Office (which is now a PJ's):

"Our Richmond, BC location is our only location that sells puppies. While I certainly understand your point of view and where you’re coming from, I wish to assure you that Super Pet acts very responsibly in terms of the care provided at store level, who we sell puppies to, where we purchase our puppies from, etc. We continue to sell puppies in this area due to popular demand."
