Flying round, 'neath summer skies
Glancing back with whites of eyes.
Garden magic, puppy tears
Tripping over outsize ears.

Bouncing thru' those daily chores
Dirty socks in busy jaws,
Stealing if he's quick enough
Chewing precious human stuff.

Laughing friends and endless days
Rubber nose and fiendish ways.
Giant paws content to dig
Loves to find where things are hid.

All grown up now, elephantile
Sees to make the whole world smile.
"I am your shadow, your alarm,
always there to keep you warm."

But now it's cold, and he is gone
Too soon for one so bold, so young.
Your friends will miss you my little man,
And dream of you in forever land.
