Shannon Malmberg of Zen Dog Training (AAS rescued dog Alfie's saviour), has a huge training group made up of her current and former pupils, that meets twice weekly on the West side of Vancouver to work on all sorts of fun human/dog communication and bonding stuff. She does a 'by donation' collection at the end of each class and proceeds are in turn donated to various animal rescue groups, particularly where there is an emergency or urgent situation. Right now the spot-light is of course on Turtle Gardens and donations are pouring in even before Thursday's class. Shannon has negotiated a volume discount on food from Fetch in Kerrisdale and Shelagh Dodd (AAS' Kailee), will be transporting all donations to a drop off spot in Richmond where the food will go with all the other donated goods by truck (free) to Turtle Gardens.

This kind of response (and the response that is coming from the whole rescue community) is nothing short of astonishing.
