Setting the Record Straight:
Anti-Cruelty Laws Protect ALL Cats

"Let’s set the record straight: Intentionally killing a cat is a criminal offense in all fifty states and the District of Columbia. Anti-cruelty laws apply to all cats—pet, abandoned, lost, and feral . . . "

For a very long time, the plight of feral cats has been ignored and people have been intentionally cruel or have killed feral cats without consequences. As Alley Cat Allies points out in their new web page, there is no distinction under the anti-cruelty laws in the US as to whether a cat is “feral” or not. It is still afforded protection under the law.

The tide is now changing for feral cats everywhere . . . . through public education, Trap/Neuter/Return programs and common decency, ferals are finally getting some help!

Please speak out and help YOUR local feral cat !
