It is sad that she had said that. They should be glad that this is a possibility at all if it means a rabbit will live and offer to take it in.
Once they are safe, then you can raise the funds to support them - there are many ways & many groups who would help. It is doable.
By basing it all on money up front, EBB won't be as likely to hand over the rabbits.
