I am with you Mary - We Icelanders are no longer allowed to rape and pillage!

I want to personally thank Mary Simon for calling on Canadians to wear seal skin during our celebrations of Canada Day. I want to assure her that traditions are an important way to bring Canadians together. She is right; although I do not know a great deal about Inuit culture, I do know some of it. I hazard to say that Mary probably doesn't know a great deal about Icelandic culture, either. For far too long we Icelanders have not been allowed to practise some of our cultural heritage that used to keep us intact as a distinct people. We have been prohibited by the Federal Government from raping and pillaging for far too long. We are losing our cohesiveness as a member of this great, multicultural nation. One practice that was dear to our hearts was a process by which we would cut the top of the skull off people who didn't agree with us, hollow out the remaining brains, hold it upside down by the hair, fill it with an alcoholic beverage and toast one another. It's where the toast, Skol, comes from. Skol translates as skull.

So the long and the short of it is, if Mary will consent to my cultural heritage being revived, I'll gladly stand with her and her people and even join them in the murdering of innocent seals and wearing them in a glorious, multicultural, sadistic celebration of our great country.
