Veterinarian fires long-term client!

David Baines, a Vancouver Sun columnist, has written two excellent articles on veterinary medication prices. When he requested a prescription for his aging dog, his veterinarian fired him as a patient! Mr. Baines complained to the BCVMA. Fortunately a call to the offending veterinarian from the BCVMA's Dr. Brocklebank resulted in a prescription being issued to Mr. Baines.

I hope that we all know that a veterinarian is required to issue a prescription on request for medications that are available from a pharmacy. Using a regular pharmacy, like Costco or Shoppers, will probably cost a fraction of the price that you will pay at a veterinary hospital.
