Ban vicious dogs before more children are mauled

People concerned about dog attacks want dog owners held accountable, as your headline indicated, but more importantly, we want vicious dogs banned from within the city limits (In the doghouse, Letters, Dec. 26).
Over the years, I have read many accounts of dog maulings that occurred in the Lower Mainland and as far east as Kamloops; all involved attacks on children or teenagers, and resulted in badly scarred faces and mangled limbs. One child's arm had to be amputated.
With this attack on Shenica White, we have to ask ourselves, how long are we going to let this continue? Holding dog owners accountable is just a way of doing nothing until someone else is hurt. Let's see what needs to be done, before any more children are torn to pieces while walking along our streets.
