ALERT: Rabbit Stomper on the Prowl Again!
The following message from a rabbit defender has been received the morning:
"IM WRITING TO EXPRESS CONCERN AND TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I SAW AN EBB LIVE ANIMAL TRAP IN THE HARDY ROAD AREA TONITE. I BELIEVE I ALSO SAW THE "SHOOTER" EBB USED IN OCTOBER THIS AFTERNOON. IS THE CITY STILL CONTRACTING HIM? HE LOOKED LIKE HE WAS SCOPING tHIS AREA OUT, WAS IN A DARK GRAY TRUCK 4X4 THE LICENSE PLATE NO. WAS 5005 KD."
The license plate number matches the one reported this fall, and so does the description of the truck. No, the city has not ended its contract with EBB, and neither has EBB fired the individual who was caught inflicting cruelty on a rabbit. If you think there's something wrong with this picture, please express those sentiments to Mayor Sharon Shepherd and Council, Ian Wilson with City Parks, and Oliver Busby with EBB (information below).
A newly-elected council has been sworn in. Why would they keep an individual on the payroll who has a past history of rabbit stomping?
