I will never - NEVER - eat another living creature again

As I was just making the boy's lunches, a thought hit me. I am not likely to be the first to think this way - but it's the first time for me, and I will never be the same.

Do we not all agree that humans are famous for making stupid choices based on purely selfish reasons? Yes, I think so.

So is it possible that we never needed meat? Not even as cavemen? That it was just one of our 'earlier' stupid choices. That the vegetation and grains would have been sufficient...as they so clearly are sufficient now.

It is well documented that chimpanzees killed animals (even their own kind) unnecessarily. That they were vegetarians, but they killed game and ate it when the mood struck them, more often leaving the victim behind untouched. It was clear to scientists that they were not killing for the nutritional value.

So is it just innate for humans to kill....and because the flavour of meat was so good, to continue killing and eating? Have we evolved, or just learned to justify?

It's not our fault...there is a flaw in our design, but can we not control it now - with all our knowledge? Or are we doomed to live out our cellular flaws until we blow ourselves off the planet Earth?

I will never - NEVER - eat another living creature again.

Next task for this 'flawed' human......no leather shoes or belts!! Alicia Silverstone wears a line of shoes called 'Veggie Feet'....think I'll Google it. Thank God for the human ability to think and create - I love Google!!!! Way to go humans!
