Animal Advocates Watchdog

Re: Richard Avanzino: Why transparency matters

I totally agree. No legitimate agency investigates itself. When people are surrendering an animal to the SPCA, they need to know what his/her chances of finding a home are. I would like to know what my local SPCA's euthanasia rate is? Then I could determine if I would like to continue to donate to an agency that may be doing a less than stellar job, if that was the case. I guess what I am saying is that I want some accountability for the funds that I donate to the SPCA.

The animals and donors in this province need an independent third party to investigate complaints into the SPCA's policies and practices

It is high time for taxpayers to fund a separate agency to oversee the SPCA
The silencing of CYA: Go AAS! Your courage and commitment take my breath away
Using your own funds must mean a lot of personal sacrifice
Fortunately, I have a valuable home, and I will spend every penny of its value to defend myself and the animals from the SPCA
Who is making sure that the SPCA is living up to their own statement of accountability ?
No one, Ms. Cosgrove, except AAS
