WORLD WEEK FOR ANIMALS IN LABORATORIES APRIL 18th to 26th

WORLD WEEK FOR ANIMALS IN LABORATORIES APRIL 18th to 26th

Every year, millions of animals are forced to endure pain, loneliness and despair
in Canadian laboratories, including those at UBC, SFU, BC Children's Hospital, VGH,
the Rick Hansen funded ICORD centre on West 10th, and St. Paul's Hospital.

Technological advances, coupled with a realization that basing human
medicine on animal research has hindered authentic scientific progress,
render the continued use of animals in laboratories as a horrific waste
of taxes and charitable donations, and worse, of so many lives each year,
both animal and human.

On Friday, April 24th, please meet us at the corner of Robson and Howe
outside the UBC Bookstore at 7p.m., where we will be leafleting until dusk:
then we will make a slow march along Burrard Street to St. Paul's Hospital
for a 2-hour silent candlelight vigil in empathy with the creatures suffering
at the hands of St. Paul's and UBC researchers behind the brick walls.

Event is rain or shine.
Hope to see you there!
