Why not serve horsemeat burgers? They suffer and die for meat-eaters too, just as cattle do.

What? Would serving dead horses instead of dead cows reveal the hypocrisy of telling the pubic that you are concerned about cruelty to farm animals? There is hardly any greater animal suffering than that suffered by meat animals, and everyone knows that by now. Unless the SPCA bought meat from a "humane" supplier, the cows in those burgers were factory-farmed at some point in their sad lives and then brutally killed in abbatoirs. Did it?

What a shock if everyone were to see a poster where the SPCA is serving the bodies of dead horses to raise money for live horses! It's no different than selling dead cows.

"Till the cows come home"? The cows in the burgers have come home all right - to the Nanaimo SPCA! That is their homecoming.
