I used to donate to the Marmot Foundation. Since the group agreed with the wolf/cougar kill, I have not sent them one nickel and I never will again.
The idea of a cull is abhorrent and deflects from the real problem. My guess is that we could kill every last cougar and wolf on Vancouver Island, but that there will be no recovery of the species without habitat protection. It's much easier to blame wolves and cougars than to accept the concept that people's actions- or should I say corporate actions- are largely to blame. The lumber lobbies are so powerful that nothing is being done on that front that will cause a change in the population dynamics of the marmot.
