Just wanted to give you the heads up that our next general meeting will likely be Thursday, July 29 at 7PM. We have not selected a location yet since we are considering having the meeting at someone's home. We will send you details about the next meeting as soon as they become available.

The next meeting will include the following:

*Discussion about non-animal alternatives in research

*Strategy discussion about our campaign - next steps, outreach, public education

Also, wanted to update you on the campaign. To date, we:

*Have submitted a Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) request to UBC for information about the university's research on animals

*Have received a letter from UBC in which the university denied our request for information

*Have submitted a request to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner to review UBC's decision to deny us information. (Under section 52 of FIPPA we have a right to seek such a review).

*Are developing factsheets and our website for our campaign

*Are moving forward with creating campaign T-shirts
