Fur-Bearer Defenders announced that it will pledge up to $50,000 to save the UVic rabbits *LINK*

Support for the UVic Feral Rabbit Rescue has been tremendous. Despite all the University’s considerable requirements before releasing any rabbits and the MoE’s lengthy permit application process, progress is being made. Some people are still thoughtlessly removing UVic rabbits into unsuitable environments, but for the most part, there is optimism that many of the rabbits will be placed into sanctuary. On July 12th, the Fur-Bearer Defenders announced that it will pledge up to $50,000 to save the UVic rabbits. There are many individuals and groups working hard at rehoming the rabbits but the cost of spaying and neutering is great. FBD is hopeful its contribution will eliminate some of the burden and ensure that all of the rabbits will receive the medical attention they deserve. All donations, whatever the amount, are greatly appreciated. Carmina Gooch, rabbitadbc@shaw.ca is the contact person in Vancouver or the Lower Mainland.
